Free VeggieTales DVD - just pay $2.99 for shipping

Riley loves VeggieTales so I was excited to see this offer. Get your choice of 3 VeggieTale DVDs when you sign up for the Big Idea newsletter and pay $2.99 shipping. Not much more than a rental and you get to keep it! :) By the way, it states one per customer so I signed Jeremy up with his e-mail address as well.

Aveeno deal at CVS!

I am really looking forward to this next week at CVS because the past few weeks have been super lame. There are a few freebies in addition to the Aveeno deal (spend $20, get $10 ECB) - which is what I am super excited about! $2 printables for Aveeno are available at Aveeno.com in addition to the shampoo coupons and such in the paper. Also - remember to scan your CVS card at the coupon center if you have one because I have gotten several Aveeno and facial care coupons over the past few weeks.

Here is my plan:
Aveeno shampoo - $6.50
Aveeno night cream moisturizer - $15
Total: $21.50
-$2 Aveeno shampoo
- $2 Aveeno actival naturals
- $2 CVS Aveeno coupon
-$3 off $15 CVS facial care coupon (both are from scanner)
Pay $12.50 in ECB and get $10 ECB back

Not a money maker, but not bad for good stuff that I actually use. If you don't have the CVS coupons, you could purchase two shampoos and one cleanser and use 3 $2 coupons to get your total down fairly low.

Tip for finding high value coupons....

Even if you don't drink, check the wine area when you are at the store. I find hangtags on wine bottles quite frequently with some pretty high value coupons and, by law, no alcohol purchase is required to use them. Just for example, I found a hangtag titled "Build Your Perfect Burger" last week here in Greenville at Walmart and inside were $1 when you purchase ground beef and $1 when you purchase two avocados coupons. Both of which were already in my buggy and to sweeten the deal even more, the avocadoes were 2/$1 that day!

New link for the awesome Kraft coupons!!!!

OK - I was absolutely loving all of those Kraft coupons that were available on coupons.com last month. I have a huge stockpile of Kraft barbecue sauce, Oscar Mayer hot dogs, Kraft cheese blocks and singles, KoolAid, Country Time, Wheat Thins, Ritz crackers and the list goes on. I didn't pay anymore than 50 cents for any of those items after price matching or combining the manu coupons with Target coupons. I was sad to see most of the coupons disappear when the month ended.

AWESOME NEWS!!! The coupons are still available on cookingwithkraft.com and it let me reprint all of them. If you don't see much you need, at least print the Kraft barbecue sauce one because that'll earn you a few cents in overage at Walmart. The $1 Honey Maid one is also great to use with the $1 insert coupon when you buy HM graham crackers, marshmellows and Hershey's chocolate. The $1 off Ritz works great with the Buy Ritz crackers and get Wheat Thins free insert coupon. The Ritz were $2.50 at my WalMart so $1.50 for two boxes of crackers!

Pottery Barn Kids lunch bags for $5.39 shipped!

Pottery Barn Kids has their Peyton lunch bags on "hidden" clearance for $5.99 with free shipping. Go through this link for an additional 10 percent off anything and then search for product number 68-5864715 in the search box. Monogramming is an additional $6.50 if you choose to do that.

When ordering something from PBK, always remember to try and add the current clearance prefix numbers (right now it is 68-) to the product number and search for it. Obtain the product number by first adding something to your cart. If the product is scheduled to drop in price within the next few weeks, it will sometimes bring the item up at a discounted price. This is great for Christmas gifts as many of the toys will start dropping in price around mid December!

CVS trash bag clearance

I haven't been blogging about CVS lately because it just seems like the deals have been a little sparse. However, I went ahead to my store this morning to do the Hawaiian Tropic and toilet paper deals. At my coupon center, I got a $1 off any Glade Air Freshener coupon and used that to get the Glade spray for free and also got a $5 off any Lumene and used this on the small $2.99 container for $2.01 in overage. I also found some large packs of Hefty trash bags on clearance for $1.50. Use the $1 insert coupon on these to make them 50 cents a peice! My store had 3 different varieties on clearance for this price.

Get 20% off at Great Wolf Lodge this summer!

Jeremy and I were thinking about taking the kids here sometime this summer for a night. It is pretty expensive so I was happy to find these codes. Generally, discounts for the GWL are fairly hard to find. Use promo code FUN, GREEN, or WOLF when booking rooms. Also look at the calendar and chose the days shaded in white to get the best pricing. I got a family suite down to $183 for a single night (4 water park passes included). Book by 7/1. Offer valid for travel through Sept 3. These are the same codes people are selling on ebay for $10!

Mall deals this weekend!

I figured that I just might take a trip to the mall this weekend with all of these great coupons!

First, stop at Bath & Body Works and get a free lip item with any purchase. You can usually get nail files, etc. for $1 and under! Coupon here.

Next, swing by JC Penney and get $10 off a $25 purchase. I usually hit the clearance racks here and buy essentials like underwear, socks and pajamas for my kids. Coupon here.

Check out Victoria's Secret annual sale. They always have some great deals and if you are a VS cardholder, you more than likely have a $10 rewards card to use!

Martin & Osa recently sent their mail list subscribers a $10 coupon on any purchase (no minimum). Sign up for their list and see if they are still sending them! This coupon is a unique bar code so I can't post it here.

Macy's also has a private sale going on. Use this coupon to get 25% off your men's clothing purchase.

2 free Texas Rangers tickets!

OK - this does require about 15 minutes worth of effort but it's totally painless. Go here and submit 25 votes for the Texas Rangers to play in the 2009 All Star Game and they'll give you 2 tickets! The form auto saves your information so you don't have to type it in 25 times. :)

Bar S Coupon & Oscar Mayer deal

In last week's inserts, there were coupons for $1 off 2 Bar S products and $1 off 2 Oscar Mayer hot dogs. The Bar S hot dogs frequently go on sale for under $1 and, if you have a Super One Food, they are 98 cents right now so 96 cents for two packs after coupon! The $1 off 2 Oscar Mayer coupon is a great one to combine with the $1 off 2 Oscar Mayer Target coupon. I am not sure how much the hot dogs are at Target but I am hoping around 2 for $3 so they would be $1 for two packs. Between these two deals, I'll have my freezer stocked with hot dogs for the entire summer!

Here is a printable link for the Bar S coupon so you can get extra copies.

Free music download from Coldplay + $5 new Green Day

Coldplay is offering a free download of 9 of their live songs here. I love Coldplay and this sure beats paying $16 for a new album!

Also, Amazon is offering the new Green Day album for $5 as a daily special. If you have never downloaded music from Amazon, you'll be prompted to install some software but it is quick and painless.

Free shipping at Anthropologie.com

I am a HUGE fan of Anthropologie, but, in the years I've been shopping there, coupon codes have been far and few between. The best they can usually do is free shipping on a purchase of $200. Ick! However, through the end of the summer, they are offering free shipping to anyone who links their Anthro card number to their online account. Before you balk, please know that the Anthro card is not a credit card rather just a fancy way for them to get you signed up for their mailing lists. Sign up for an Anthro card
here and you'll receive your card number shortly. Follow the directions in the email to link your card and then when you sign on to Anthropologie.com, you'll automatically see the shipping discount in your card. I just ordered the Sluice Gate Blouse (on clearance) for $19.99 with free shipping! Yay!

$5 off 2 entrees at Chilis

I got this coupon in my email and used it at the Greenville location tonight with no issues. Several other blogs have posted about it so it should be nationwide. Click on the image to bring up a printable coupon.

B1G1 Snapple coupon

Become a fan of Snapple on Facebook and get a B1G1 coupon. I was able to print this twice from the link off of their Facebook page.

The most awesome coupons ever!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile and thanks to everyone who continued to check the blog! I have been beyond busy trying to find a job with no luck yet.

OK - just about every deals blog on the face of the earth has posted about the Kraft coupons but I just can't help myself. They can be found here and at coupons.com and you must you create an account at Kraft to print them there. I would recommend visiting both sites because the print limit is 1 for each site so this way you can get 2 copies. I am planning a trip to Target this weekend to use the Target coupons found here to maximize my savings.

I have managed to get 4 copies of many of the Kraft coupons and plan on getting this stuff for free or close to free at Target using manufacturer and Target coupons together. Remember to hand your manufacturers coupons first and then the Target coupons if you are planning on getting overage for an item.

Kraft salad dressing (2 $1.50 manu & $1 off 2 TQ=free+overage!)
Kraft Mayo (2 $1 manu & $1 off 2 TQ)
Kraft Miracle Whip (2 $1 manu & $1 off 2 TQ) I have no clue what I am going to do with all of this mayo!)
Wheat Thins (2 $1 manu & $1 off 2 TQ)
Triscuits (2 $1 manu & $1 off 2 TQ)
Ritz Bits ($1 manu & $1 TQ=free)
Ritz Crackers ($1 manu & $1 TQ)
Crystal Light (2 $1 manu & $1 off 2 TQ)
Kraft Barbecue sauce ($1 manu=free)
Kraft shredded cheese ($1 off 2 manu & $1 off 2 TQ)

Walgreens reset means more clearance!!

Like I mentioned before, not all Walgreens reset at the same time but check your store because there is a good chance you might find some of this stuff. Yesterday I found:

Sally Hershberger hair products - $2.39-$3.19 (regular $8.99) and still spitting out this week's $3 Register Reward = Free or MM after RRs

GE Energy Smart ceiling fan light bulbs - $1.79 (regular $6.99), use $1 coupon = 79 cents

Sharpie markers, 8 pack - $1.04

KY Intrique - $5.19 - $5 coupon = 19 cents

I primarily went to get the Aveeno travel kits that are free after purchase of 3 Aveeno items this week. The kits are really nice and will make great gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week.

I got:
3 small (not travel size) Aveeno lotions = $7.17
1 Aveeno travel kit = $7.99
-$7.99 kit (register auto deducts it)
-$2 Aveeno coupon from inside kit
-$2 Aveeno printable
-$2 Aveeno printable
-$1 Aveeno newspaper
= .17 plus tax oop!

Someone clean the mess my heart made on the floor....

when I saw the new Janie & Jack line in my email this morning. I mean, just look at this swimsuit! Riley would look so cute in it! Heck, I would wear it if I were cute enough. I wish J&J's stuff wasn't so expensive. The suit is $30 and I can't exactly justify spending that after finding two really adorable, like-new suits for her at Goodwill ($1 a piece mind you!). Janie & Jack

My CVS Shopping List Week 5/3

I am so excited about this next week at CVS because I am a Coke Zero addict. I probably drink about a half-pack a day and my insides are probably syrupy and fizzy after years of abuse. :-) Anyway, I love it when I can get stuff for free at CVS other than toothpaste and shampoo!

First things first - remember to scan your card at the coupon center when you go into the store. I know some of you guys don't have a card scanner and I am deeply sorry for that because these nifty machines spit out valuable coupons. For the past few months, I've received $5 off $25 coupons each and every time I scanned my card. The last two times I shopped I didn't get one. This has been a topic of worry for my friend Jamie and I. It is harder to put together deals at CVS without them but still perfectly possible.

Here is a copy of the ad. Remember it is not effective until Sunday, May 3.

I think these are the best ECB deals for the week and the coupons you can use with them:

$10 ECB WYB $20 any Coke or Mars Products Limit 1

Buy 5 packs of Coke
Use 5 $1 Coke coupons (get these at mycokerewards.com after entering codes from flaps)
Get 5 packs for $5 after ECBs

$2 ECB WYB Colgate Max Fresh or Max White $2.99 Limit 2
Use $1 Colgate Max Fresh coupons
Free after ECBs

$3 ECB WYB Adidas Action3 2.8 oz Deodorant $3.99 Limit 3
Use $1 Adidas coupon
Free after ECBs

$5 ECB WYB Kelloggs Cereals 3/$10 Limit 1
Use 3 $1 coupons from the newspaper or use the printables I mentioned yesterday.
Get 3 boxes for $2 after ECBs

I am going into this week with $26 in extra care bucks. Here is my game plan:

Transaction #1
5 12-packs of Coke - $20
1 canister of Lumene face cream - $2.99
2 tubes of Colgate - $5.98
2 Adidas deodorants - $7.98
Subtotal: $36.95
-5 $1 Coke Reward coupons
-$5 Lumene coupon (I got this from the coupon center and the cashier usually allows the overage)
-2 $1 Colgate coupons
-2 $1 Adidas coupons
= $22.95 - pay with $23 ECB and get $20 in ECBs back

Transaction #2
3 boxes Kelloggs cereal $10
Subtotal: $10
-3 $1 coupons
=$7 - use $6 ECBs from Adidas, $1 out of pocket, get $5 in ECBs

For all of that stuff, I spent $1 out of pocket and still have $22 in ECBs!

I generally don't like to come away with fewer ECBs than I walked into the store with but I'll make exceptions for Coke, lol! :-)

If you are just starting out, I would break up your transactions and do the toothpaste and deodorant deals first, then the cereal, and then the Coke. That way, you'll spend less out of pocket starting out.

I heart this Orla bag!

I checked my email yesterday and read that Oliebollen (an awesome kids clothing and toy site) is giving 20 percent off its Orla Kiely items with code ORLA. Last time they did this everything was full price to start with and all of the bags were still $140+ after the discount. However I noticed this sweet bag on clearance for $129! With the code it is only $103. A great price for an Orla bag! Oh how I long for it...someone better go buy it before I do. Maybe then I'll get lucky and it'll be the only one in stock. By the way, Orla just launched an exclusive line of home goods for Target and I noticed the other day that some of it was being clearanced out. So, if we can't have $100 bags then $6 coffee mugs will have to suffice.

Free reusable shopping bag from Rachael Ray magazine

I am saving my receipt from my Target Ritz cracker deal to send in for a free reusable shopping bag from Rachael Ray magazine. You can get it free with purchase of certain Kraft foods. Details here.

$1 Kelloggs coupons for CVS deal next week

Run, run, run! There are $1 Kelloggs coupons on couponbug.com and coupons.com right now. CVS has an extra care buck deal on Kelloggs next week so you can get 3 boxes of cereal for $2 (after ECB) if you get 3 coupons. Cereals on sale include Special K, Smart Start, Mini Wheats, and Frosted Flakes.

Off Insect Repellent & Raid Bug Spray for 69 cents

I was picking up some of my haul at Walgreens yesterday when I saw several types of Off repellent and Raid spray on clearance for $1.69. While I thought that was a great price, I didn't buy any because I already have plenty. Something just kept nagging at me though and when I got home I realized that there are $1 off coupons for these products in the Easy Saver catalog (located in the store at the front with the ads)! There is also some manufacturers coupons for $1 off Raid so this would be a possible free or money maker item for those that have the coupons. Walgreens resets their products every so often and generally the clearances are pretty consistent from store to store. Be sure and check this out because Off is generally $4 on up!

Problems printing Internet coupons?

Try these suggestions from slickdeals if you are having problems with any of the coupon links. Each type of web browser creates different coupon links so if you are on a browser that is different from mine, you might have trouble printing from my links.

Problems printing Bricks coupons? This may fix your problem! So, everyone uses different browsers, from IE to FireFox to Safari.

Sometimes people paste Coupons.com/Bricks links that they recieved in FireFox, which do not work in Internet Explorer or vice versa. You get the "Please wait..." or "Please Install The Coupon Printer" even if you already did.

This trick will allow you to simply change 2 characters in the URL to make a FireFox link work in Internet Explorer and vice versa

Here's how easy it is, the following is a FireFox link:
hxxp://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=ri3peuo59687503&bt=wg&o=53740&ci=1&c=GM&p=TyQrvJAY

note the "wg" in the URL. This link gives the repeating Please Install The Coupon Printer in Internet Explorer.

To make that link an Internet Explorer link we simply change "wg" to "wi" OR "vi" (in this case, both variations work, other coupons it may be wi or vi, trial and error):
hxxp://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=ri3peuo59687503&bt=wi&o=53740&ci=1&c=GM&p=TyQrvJAY
or
hxxp://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=ri3peuo59687503&bt=vi&o=53740&ci=1&c=GM&p=TyQrvJAY

UPDATE: If you want to print Bricks coupons on a MAC with Safari, replace the "wg", "wi", or "vi" to "xs". You can also do the reverse, take a Safari link "xs" to IE "wi" or "vi" or to FireFox "wg".

You do the opposite if you want to print an Internet Explorer link in FireFox!

25 cent mac 'n cheese at WalMart

Edit: I was at my WalMart this morning and noticed that the boxed Velveeta dinners are back up to $1.50. I was able to print two more coupons last night from Jeremy's laptop and ended up using those on the individual Velveeta shells and cheese bowls that were 98 cents. The coupon worked flawlessly and clearly reads "any Velveeta shells and cheese product."

Velveeta shells are on sale for $1 at Walmart this week. Print this coupon here for $1.50 off of two. You can generally print online coupons twice so four boxes for $1!

Super Cheap Cheese & Crackers at Target!

Target just released some great store coupons on their website. You can combine these with your manufacturer coupons to maximize your savings! Print the target coupons here.

Some scenarios:
Buy 2 boxes of Triscuits at $2 and 2 blocks of Kraft cheese at $2.
Use the Target coupons for $1 off 2 Triscuits and $1 off 2 Kraft cheeses.
Then, use two of these manufacturer printables for $1 off of Kraft cheese and a box of Triscuits.
$4 for 2 Triscuits and 2 blocks of cheese.

Buy 4 boxes of Ritz mini peanut butter or cheese sandwich crackers on temporary price cut for $2 each.
Use four $1 Target coupons for Ritz Crackers.
Use two of these manufacturer printables for $1 off of two boxes.
$2 for 4 boxes of crackers!

If you've got newspaper coupons, the Kraft salad dressing Target coupon is a money maker when combined with the $1.50 manufacturer coupon from a few weeks back.

Free Chips & Salsa at Kroger this week!

This deal will only work if you have last weekend's coupons so start clipping and saving them! Kroger has Wholly Salsa buy one get one free this week and there was a buy one get one free coupon in last weekend's newspaper. A B1G1 sale combined with a B1G1 coupon results in free items at most retail stores. So you get two salsas for free or possibly more if you have more coupons! To make the deal sweeter, use the free chips (up to $3) coupon that ran alongside the B1G1 one. Buy the Tostitos that are on sale for 2/$4 this week and if your cashier is feeling generous (or lazy!) they might just give you a dollar in overage. There is also a $1 off when you buy both Tostitos chips and dip that you could use too if you don't mind spending a little out of pocket for the dip.

Other freebies or cheapies you can get at Kroger right now:
Angel Soft 4 pack toilet paper $1 - use 50 cent coupon
Mahatma rice $1.09 - use 50 cent coupon

Contingent on your store doubling and tripling coupons
